6. Work As Usual
During your last two weeks, keep up with your work and try to be as productive as possible. Don’t slack down just because you’re leaving. Your workload may, in fact, increase with having to train a replacement for you.
The last days of your employment can leave a strong impact on your co-workers and employers. No matter how hard you worked before, if you seem to be cutting down on your workload, it’ll leave a bad impression.
7. Stay In Touch
Depending on how close you are you should be in touch with your current employers and co-workers even after you leave. If you’re close with your work circle, it’s nice to keep them updated on your life rather than cutting them off entirely.
Some workspaces feel more like a second home than a working area; you shouldn’t disappear after you leave without any further correspondence with your workers. It can come off as rude and can hurt people who feet close to you, especially after working together for a long time.
In case you’ve never really connected with any of your co-workers, an email notifying of your leave is better than being greeted by an empty desk.
8. Be Thankful To The Ones Who Inspired You
In every workplace, some seniors inspire their juniors to work harder and do better. If you’ve looked up to anyone during your employment, or if anybody has made a positive impact on you, be sure to thank him or her.
Write a note or a personal email letting them know how they’ve inspired you and your work. If possible, thank them face-to-face, as this is more intimate and leaves a better impression.
